Explore Therapy
Explore what therapy I offer and find out how I can be of help to you.
What I offer
I work face to face and online. In Transactional Analysis we begin by agreeing a contract together — what you want from the work, and how we will go about it. That agreement stays open, and can change as you do.
-
My practice is at Nine Wells, above Cwm Porth y Rhaw, between Solva and St Davids.
Sessions take place in a bell tent with a wood stove, so it stays warm and sheltered whatever the weather is doing. If you would rather move, we can walk the coast path or the wooded valley below.
Some people find it easier to sit. Some find it easier to talk while walking. Either is fine, and you can change your mind.
-
Online work will take place whereever you feel comfortable and safe. All I ask is that you find yourself in a quiet space where you can speak freely.
-
Session length: 50 minutes
Fee: £40 per session
Before we start: A free 20-minute phone call, with no obligation on either side
How therapy can help
When I work I take into consideration
Creating new meaning
We can look at your past and bring awareness to your story, so that it becomes something you understand rather than something that simply happened to you.
Loosening old patterns
Many of us repeat things that once protected us and no longer do. Together we can notice those patterns and find where the choices are.
Finding Autonomy
Autonomy is awareness of your own choices — the freedom to be more spontaneous, and to build closer, more honest relationships.
Feeling steadier
The better you understand your own story, the more confidence you tend to have in the decisions you make.
What can therapy help with?
People come for many different reasons. Some of the more common ones:
Grief and loss Bereavement, relationships ending, work, health, or a future you had expected and no longer have.
Feeling stuck Patterns you can see clearly but cannot seem to change. Questions about who you are, or who you are becoming.
Difficult feelings Anxiety, depression, stress, and emotions that are hard to place or hard to hold.
Relationships Romantic relationships, family, friendships, and the patterns that repeat across them.
Trauma and its effects Including the effects of sexual abuse.
Eating difficulties and disorders
Neurodiversity Making sense of yourself in systems that were not built with you in mind.
Large life events The changes that arrive whether you chose them or not.
If you are not sure whether therapy is right for you, or whether I am the right person for it, you are welcome to ask. I would rather have that conversation than have you wonder.
Ethics
I am a member of UKATA, ITAA, EATA, and UKCP. I follow the ethical framework set out by the UKCP and EATA.
I follow GDPR and I am registered with the ICO. I also hold the relevant public liability insurance to practice within the UK.
I have regular supervision to ensure my work is up to a high standard.
